THE BABIES ARE COMING!
For this years foaling season, LHER has the ambitious goal of rescuing 15 foals. Click here.
We expect them to begin arriving as ANY DAY NOW, in groups of 2 or 3 at a time, until late June. Caring for so many babies will take many hands. Milk replacer (formula) and special feed and care are required for such tiny babies. We are looking for more volunteers for the late winter/spring season. Please Contact Us NOW for information on volunteer training programs to have you ready for the arrival of the foals. We would also be happy to pre-screen any potential adopter who may be interested in adopting a 2010 foal. Please visit our Help and Donate Page for other ways you can help.
We are very busy preparing a quarantine birthing barn for the pregnant mares rescued the first week of March. They must be seperated from the other horses for 30 days. At this time we are hoping that someone may know an electrician who would be willing to donate the installation of a new light in this barn as the old one is in tough shape. Please feel free to forward this email to anyone who you think could help:) A tax donation receipt will be provided. This takes priority on our list of things to do, so we are hoping that someone will be able to step forward prior to their arrival next Monday evening. Please email April if you can help! More info.
