Volunteer!Truly dedicated Volunteers are hard to come by and always welcome at Lucky Horse Equine Rescue. The needs of a growing rescue are many and vary greatly. Your commitment, whether an hour, a day or ongoing may be just what we need as we continue helping horses. We look forward to processing your application; meeting you in person and helping you help horses right away. Currently we are seeking:Fair Staff and Setup. Fun, Fun, Fun! The Bolton Fair, Sterling Fair and Equine Affaire are big opportunities for LHER and we need volunteers for a multitude of tasks, prior to and at each event. If you are interested in being on our fair workforce email Jen V at nrsmail_verizon.netFoal Feeders who can commit to regular shift(s) for the rest of the 2010 foal season. We have rescued many foals this year and keeping their little bellies full is almost a full time job. Can you help us feed these cute babies?Recycle Person to make a small, once or twice a week pickup from LHER on their way to the transfer station. Lucky Riders Are you an experienced equestrian comfortable getting on horses of all levels of ability? Than we need you! If you are an upper intermediate or advanced rider check out our training programs page for more information on this great opportunity.Videographers to take short (one-two minute) videos of horses in our natural horsemanship class, under saddle, and of the foals for the web site. Must have own camera.Photographers to take photos of LHER equines just about everywhere, in turnouts, crossties, Natural Horsemanship Class, under saddle etc. to be used on the web, facebook and promotional materials. We would also like photos of our volunteers hard at work, feeding foals, mucking turnouts, you name it. Please submit all photos to LHERphotos_yahoo.com for approval prior to postingNatural Horsemanship Handlers. LHERs natural horsemanship classes not only train horses and handlers, they are an important fundraiser for the rescue and offered both Wednesdays and Saturdays. Seasoned volunteers available to show new volunteers the ropes, where to find horses, grooming supplies, hang blankets etc. For more information, check out our training programs page.Hair and Beauty Specialists. LHER horses, ponies and foals need special people to help them show off their horsenalities.. Must know how to pull manes and clip.Runners. LHER often needs volunteers to run a quick errand that makes a big impact. From picking up milk replacer to paperwork, you name it we may need it done.
