Horse Donations*THERE ARE MANY REASONS A HORSE MAY END UP AT A SANCTUARY Some have come to the end of their career (like a racehorse) and rather than slaughter, the horse is donated in hopes of retraining for a new life as a pleasure horse. Others may have a small medical issue that prevents or limits their use and their current owner cannot keep them. Other times, it is sad to say, horses are neglected and abused to the point where they are removed from their current situation in order to save their life. Lucky Horse Equine Rescue is committed to helping these horses in need find loving forever homes.Should you wish to donate a horse or have us list your horse on our Other Horses Available page, please Contact Us .NEGLECT OR ABUSE – If you think you have seen a neglect or abuse case where the person wants to turn over their horse, we can help. If they are unwilling, you must contact the MSPCA for an investigation as LHER has no police powers.I CAN”T KEEP MY HORSE! – If you have a horse that you can no longer keep and must find a home for, contact us! DO NOT send your horse to auction. Terrible fates await horses that take a spin on the auction wheel and lose! Serious neglect can truly be a fate worse than death for your four legged friend.I AM NOT IN A SERIOUS FINANCIAL BIND, BUT MY DAUGHTER HAS LOST INTEREST IN RIDING AND WOW DO THOSE TRAINING FEES ADD UP!
