Lucky Horse Equine Rescue is a non profit organization dedicated to the educated and empathic care of all equines. Our Mission is to protect unwanted, abandoned, neglected, or slaughter bound horses by saving, caring for, and rehabilitating these equines in need and placing them in compatible loving homes where they can lead contented and productive lives. LHER believes that compassion and education are the long term solutions to improving the lives of all equines. All donations to LHER are tax deductible.
WHAT DO WE DO? Lucky Horse wants to help! We are a group of people interested in giving back to the animal community. Animals have factored deeply in all of our lives, and it is our turn to give back now! Our pet project is the Orphaned Foal project, but this is not all we do! If you are at your wits end and not sure where to turn, turn to Lucky Horse and we will try to help. We do specialize in horses but try very hard not to turn away any animal or person in need. LHER does takes in the rescues that consist of horses that are victims of ignorance and cruelty, but now more than ever we are seeing people that love their animals dearly end up in situations where they can no longer afford them. Some of these people have turned to Lucky horse and are trusting us to re home their equine friends.
LHER is located on the premises of Century Mill Stables in Bolton, MA. Jai Rezac, founder and President of Lucky Horse, has been rescuing horses and animals since the rescue of her first pony Lucky at the age of 12. Jai now has over 20 years of experience training horses of all levels in hunters, jumpers, equitation, dressage and eventing. She also has an entire herd of lucky horses that she has rescued and rehabilitated over the years. Many of these rescues went on to become excellent pleasure and show horses. We are so fortunate at LHER to have Jai's bank of knowledge at our disposal. Jai enjoys finding just the right fit for both people and horses and then taking that match as far as possible in their chosen sport. Thank you Jai and Century Mill for your generosity in allowing Century Mill to be the host farm of Lucky Horse Equine Rescue.
