WHO WE ARE Lucky Horse Equine Rescue is a non profit organization dedicated to the educated and empathic care of all equines. Our Mission is
to protect unwanted, abandoned, neglected, or slaughter bound horses by saving, caring for, and rehabilitating these equines in need and placing
them in compatible loving homes where they can lead contented and productive lives. LHER believes that compassion and education are the long term solutions to improving the lives of all equines. All donations to LHER are tax deductible pending status. LHER is an all volunteer organization and is thankful for each and every volunteer and their many contributions.
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful group of volunteers here at Lucky Horse! Therefore we would like to take the time to thank those who make this rescue a success. We also like to brag about what a fun, and interesting, crew we have around here.
OUR JULY VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH IS ALI D. Ali can be found most days of the week at the barn with her mother, Sandy. Ali has two foal feeding shifts, attends two natural horsemanship classes per week with her numerous Barn Buddies and is on our yogurt team. We were especially impressed with her when her former BB, Ladybug, had colic. Ali took on double overnight shifts for several days, along with other volunteers, to walk her, massage her and give medications. When it became clear that we could not save Ladybug despite heroic efforts, Ali stayed with Ladybug to comfort her in her final moments. A true gift to her beloved friend. Ali is a perfect example that age has little to do with maturity and she has become one of our most dependable volunteers here at LHER.

WHAT DO WE DO Lucky Horse wants to help! We are a group of people interested in giving back to the animal community. Animals have factored deeply in all of our lives, and it is our turn to give back now! Our pet project is the Orphaned Foal project, but this is not all we do! If you are at your wits end and not sure where to turn, turn to Lucky Horse and we will try to help. We do specialize in horses but try very hard not to turn away any animal or person in need. LHER does take in horses that are victims of ignorance and cruelty, but now more than ever we are seeing people that love their animals dearly end up in situations where they can no longer afford them. Some of these people have turned to Lucky horse and are trusting us to re-home their equine friends. Horses and foals currently for adoption.
WHERE TO FIND US LHER is located on the premises of Century Mill Stables in Bolton, MA. This full service show and training facility takes its mission of "happy horses, happy riders" above and beyond by generously donating the stalls, turnouts, indoor/outdoor arena time and expertise that allow Lucky Horse to provide exceptional, educated and empathetic care to each and every horse. Thank you CMS, we could not do this without you.
