Dear Friends of LuckyHorse,
We write to you today for your support to rescue one last group of foals for the 2010
season! We have just made a very quick decision to rescue an additional 15 babies -
can you help? The babies arrived late June and we are depending upon your support!
We had no time to fundraise for these babies to come in so we said a very nervous
YES and now we need to raise the funds to cover them!!
Each foal will need a Sponsor ($250 donation) and a foster friend ($300 donation).
The sponsor pays to release the foal to Lucky Horse, and the foster friend donation covers one month of life expenses for one of these babies. Orphan Angels are amazing people who decide that they want to bring a foal to complete safety and make a donation of $550, covering both the sponsorship and the foster friend donation. This ensures that one lucky baby will become a Lucky Horse!
Please consider being a Orphan Angel and really making a difference in the lives of one of these sweeties. You will even get to name the foal that you rescue! Please help us make a difference! We had very little time to make this decision. We are planning on this being our last load of foals and last foal fundraiser for 2010, making our grand total 25 foals this year!

P.S. LHER to the rescue! Jai and Ron went on an emergency rescue of 9 foals a little over a week ago. The foals are in tough shape, but already improving. This makes a total of 25 foals saved this year!! LHER currently has 9 foals who need angels to sponsor their daily cost , volunteers for foal feeding, socialization, etc.
The foal in the toughest shape is Little Jimmy (aka James Blonde), (photo 7/8/10), he is so cute. He is shaved because the vet did an ultrasound on him. He was only a week old when he came to LHER, and was having a tough time drinking the milk. He was suffering from severe malnutrition. We started syringe feeding him and at the advice of the veterinarian, we are tube feeding him. Little Jimmy will drink out of the bucket as well. Today was the first day out of the stall in a few days. He seemed happy to get out and smell things. We are cautiously optimistic he will recover. LHER will do our best, as long as he is comfortable and has a quality of life, the volunteers of LHER will be here for him. He has volunteers with him around the clock, the evening the volunteers do 2 hour shifts and during the day 1 hour shifts.
If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the volunteer application .
